Be inspired by the sea!

The Seashore Centre is run by Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust and is the hub for the Trust's marine conservation and education work. The Seashore Centre is open to the public from April to September and hosts a life size rockpool room with marine tanks and fun interactive displays - it is the perfect place to discover more about the local marine environment.

The Seashore Centre also runs an innovative and inspiring education and events programme. See the links above for further information.

Tor Bay's marine life is exceptional with a diversity of underwater habitats that are home to some very special marine species. In the sheltered bays you can find underwater meadows of seagrass, a rare flowering plant that provides a home to many marine species, such as seahorses and cuttlefish. In the limestone cliffs and hidden from daylight are stunning sea caves full of beautiful pink sea fingers and cup corals. Due to this amazing diversity of marine life in Tor Bay areas are designated as a candidate Special Area of Conservation.
